Dow Names New Commercial VP

MIDLAND, Mich. - December 4, 2000 - The Dow Chemical Company announced today that Robert (Bob) M. Beil, Commercial Director for Polystyrene, has been appointed Commercial Vice President, North America, for Polyolefins. The Polyolefins business group is one of eight global business units at Dow. Beil started his career with Dow, in the Market Development Program, in 1975. Over the next decade, he held a variety of marketing and sales positions within Dow businesses, including Consumer Products, Organic Chemicals and Ag Organics. In 1985, Beil was named the District Sales Manager for Chemicals and Metals, based out of Chicago. He later served as Global Business Operations Manager in the Corporate Product Department as well as General Manager for Plastic-Lined Pipe Products. In 1995, Beil assumed his most recent position as Commercial Director for Polystyrene. Beil earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Youngstown State University.
