RAPAC, headquartered in Oakland, Tennessee has 15 years experience in direct injection process for gassing polystyrene. RAPAC management recognized the polystyrene loose-fill market was in need of lighter weight materials. In 1987, RAPAC introduced their light weight loose-fill bead, saving the customer close to 20% in material cost. In 1989 environmental issues threated the loose-fill market. Adopting the company philosophy that we provide creative packaging solutions for our changing environment, RAPAC quickly developed a loose-fill product which contained 30% recycle content with photodegradable properties. This unique loose-fill was the only product of its kind on the market. Large users of loose-fill appreciated the marketing help this program gave them in responding to the critics of polystyrene. To further expand its role in recycling, RAPAC opened Cycle 6, Inc. in Stone Mountain, GA in 1992 as a polystyrene recycle center. In late 1992, further utilizing the technology of recycled materials, RAPAC began supplying a 100% recycled loose-fill product. Today, RAPAC is the largest manufacturer of 100% recycled loose-fill in the U.S. The management of RAPAC is committed to the polystyrene packaging industry and in finding new market applications. Currently RAPAC is developing an all new capability in the direct injection process. The flexibility of the proprietary process will allow RAPAC to serve new market inaccessible to the major polystyrene producers. Additives to provide protection and blends to enhance the performance of the product are just a few features RAPAC will be offering to provide a solution to your packaging needs.
