Beer in a cold glass.

This response submitted by Gary Brown on 9/7/96

Coke has made the transition from the classic coke bottle,
which was thick, to a thin plastic bottle. Beer could go
the way of coke. However..... as a beer drinker and home
brewer the issues to me include cleanliness and sustained
chill. Glass is seen as pure and clean. I clean my home
brew equipment with only water and chlorine, never soap.
I dispense canned beer into frozen glass mugs. This is not
really needed for bottled beer. If plastic beer bottles
can keep beer colder longer, then they will be a welcomed
innovation. If not, beer mug sales will go up.
